Tim Mackley is a qualified garden designer and horticulturalist with twenty years experience designing, planting and developing gardens. He is a Designer Member of the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL) and a Pre-Registered Member of the Society of Garden Designers (SGD).
After completing an Honours degree, Tim spent 14 years working in the media industry before retraining to pursue his lifelong passion for plants and gardens.
Tim trained at Capel Manor College attaining a range of qualifications including the RHS General Certificate in Horticulture, C&G Garden & Landscape Design, C&G Hard Landscape & Garden Construction and OCN Planting Design.
Tim was a finalist in the national SGD Awards 2012, in the Future Designers category and in the Pro Landscaper Small Project Big Impact Awards 2018. He has been featured in various magazines including House & Garden, Modern Gardens, Ideal Home and Garden Design Journal, as well as in local newspapers Southwark News, Dulwich & South London Press and The Bridge.
In addition to his design and project work, for over fifteen years Tim has been the single-handed gardener for a large private garden in Dulwich Village, which opens to the public for charity under The National Gardens Scheme (NGS). This half an acre of ‘country garden in London’ includes a long herbaceous border, spacious lawn, ornamental pond, rose garden, numerous trees and shrubs, plus a kitchen garden and greenhouse.
